Golf

There is a superb new golf course sloping down from the Crover House Hotel towards the lake. This course enjoys wonderful views over Lough Sheelin. It's only one mile down the shore from Captains Bay fishing lodge, and indeed one can travel to it by boat or by car!

The Crover House hotel has a very good Restaurant Menu.
Bistro Costello, Oldcastle can also be recommended.

The Lake, Shores, and Islands, are an absolute Mecca for the study of ornithology. Greater crested Grebes, Moorehens, Mallards, and Little Grebes along with many others are found in the bay itself. A heron often rises off our own shore.

On our own acre of lake shore alone, can be seen Rabbits, Hares, and Squirrels, to name but a few. Children take great delight in seeing the wild animals.

Situated on 10 acres of naturally enclosed valley, a stream running through and a multitude of items displayed from animals to old farm machinery including: Forge and Mill, Pets Corner, Exotic Birdhouse, Emu, and Deer. There are indoors and outdoors picnic area.

There are plenty of activities including bird watching, golfing at the local hotel, horse riding, and walking. There are also many sites of historical interest. The area abounds in historic attractions, yet is easy to get to from Dublin, being only 55 miles away.
